About Me

A short reflection

Hi, I’m Kathryn (she/her; pronounced kath-rin)!

With both professional experience as a consumer science researcher and a graduate degree in behavioral and decision science, it is safe to say I am intrigued by the way humans interact with the world around them. My career has afforded me the opportunity to integrate tools from traditional market research, psychology, behavioral science, and neuroscience. More importantly, this exposure taught me how to use the right tools for the right questions.

I’m passionate about highlighting the consumer voice when designing studies around the client’s needs and effectively communicating findings to generate meaningful insights. Both professional and educational experiences have instilled a love for rigorous research, multidisciplinary conversations, and experimental design.

I’m a lifelong learner and a fan of harnessing the full value of collaboration. Here are some superpowers I’ve acquired over the years:

  • Adapts well to unpredictable environments to brainstorm practical solutions

  • Optimizes the strengths within a team to encourage universal design

  • Simplifies complex ideas or findings in an effective, easy-to-understand manner

  • Driven to be vigilant in the details, but open-minded to the outcome– everything is a lesson

I believe having a diverse team promotes a holistic understanding of the user experience, providing a depth of critical thought and endless curiosity to keep exploring. My mindset about research can be summarized by the following:

  • Research is never finished; good research answers some questions but also leads to new ones.

  • Strong communication, active listening, and collaboration breeds continuous learning.

  • Having clearly defined research questions and goals promotes impactful solutions.

  • Stories connect us. Art, travel, and conversation foster an appreciation and compassion for self-expression and the human experience.
